Marcos and Malisa met in 2013 during an incredible Taos sunset. The two fell in love, and knew they were destined to live life creating, and appreciating the opportunity to making things happen. A year into their lives together, Bloody Maria and Nuevo Cerveza were introduced to New Mexico. These businesses take the couple throughout the Southwest, sharing adventures in their camper van with Primo, their adorable french bulldog. Malisa and Marcos reside in Pilar, New Mexico and hope to continue a legacy that celebrates all things New Mexican. Sky is the limit, Que VIVA!!

2017 brought a new home to the couple, a fixer-upper in Pilar, NM. Malisa and Marcos spent months during the summer working on the remodel. They decided to share their first night in their new home with their closest friends and family attending a housewarming as well as the celebration of promising forever to one another.

Before the nuptials, Malisa and her gorgeous bride tribe prepped for the big day at Palacio de Marquesa in Taos, NM. Jasper K Photography had previously collaborated with Malisa and a few of her friends on a fantastic styled bridesmaids inspiration shoot for Rocky Mountain Bride at Adobe & Pines Inn so coming together again to capture Malisa’s bridal portraits at the location where we all met was truly special for all of us. We captured some stunning portraits of Malisa and her bride babes before we headed back to their home to begin the wedding festivities.

The ceremony overlooked the Rio Grande river and was blessed by Marcos’ father. Guests enjoyed acoustic Spanish guitar and traditional New Mexican food from Stray Dog Cantina (Taos Ski Valley). An Italian wedding cake by Debbie de Taos and a S’mores pit kept the party going as well as the vintage Airstream lounge (The Rolling Social) transforming their backyard into a kick ass dance party.

They chose November 11th as their wedding date because 11:11 brings a message of oneness and unity which helps you to see, feel, and experience your connection with the Angelic realm. Every day is a chance to be aware of the coincidences, and accept guidance from our angels. The date is a blessed reminder of the power of a positive mind, and open heart.

Malisa’s wedding dress was made from her mother’s wedding dress. The dress was purchased in the 80’s for her mother by her great grandmother. Dawn Bacon (Santa Fe seamstress) reconstructed the material to create the bodice of the dress and the skirt was made new of silk chiffon.

Barton’s Flowers Santa Fe collaborated with Malisa to create the unique arrangements.The bouquets include Marigold to honor the ‘Los Muertos’ tradition, with succulents, grasses and deep purple dahlias.

Danessa with Black Bow Events went above and beyond to make Malisa’s vision for a beautiful New Mexican themed wedding come to life.
