Aaron + Michele | Albuquerque Rooftop Proposal | The Banque Lofts | Albuquerque, New Mexico
I was stoked as all hell when Aaron sent me a Facebook message asking me to capture his proposal to his longtime girlfriend, Michele. Michele knew a proposal from Aaron was coming so Aaron thought if he sent her on any sort of scavenger hunt or had her meet him somewhere, she would definitely take the hint and know what was going on. So Aaron proposed the idea of having me message Michele asking her if I could take some photos of just me and her for a project I was doing. If you know me, you know I am a hopeless romantic and pretty extra, so if you’re asking me for help, I am going to go above and beyond for you.
I asked my friend, Lauren Mestas of Just Lovely Wedding & Event Planning to help make Aaron’s vision come to life. Lauren had just recently taken over Darling Details Vintage Decor Rental Co. so it worked out perfectly to create an epic backdrop for this stellar proposal. Lauren got in contact with the folks over at The Banque Lofts in Downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico for us to set everything up on the rooftop at sunset. Talk about pure, genuine romance. I also contacted Hope Duarte and Felina Chacon for professional hair and makeup styling for Michele.
The plans were all set, so it was finally time to get the ball rolling. I wrote Michele and asked her this exact message;
“Hi Michele!
I hope you and the family are doing absolutely amazing! I was wondering if you and Aaron might be up for modeling for a styled couples shoot! I second shot for a wedding at the Banque Lofts a couple of months ago and the venue manager reached out to me and he wants to do a holiday themed set up and wanted me to take photos of it! They told me to find a cute couple and I thought you and Aaron would be perfect for it! I showed the event coordinator the photos I took of you guys and she LOVED them! We would realllllllllly love for you guys to model for us! and I'll also take free Christmas photos of you guys and Brielle together!! We have a super cute set up in our studio downtown! We have a date in mind so if you're interested, I'll give you all the details! Let me know!! ”
Michele said yes and we started planning.
On December 17th, Michele *thought* her and Aaron were modeling for an evening styled holiday shoot at the Banquet Lofts, little did she know that Aaron would be waiting there at sunset to ask her for her hand with the city of Albuquerque behind them.
It was seriously SO magical, romantic, and dreamy. Take a look for yourself. :)
It was truly an honor to capture this huge milestone in Aaron and Michele's lives. This proposal was epic, but their love is even more extraordinary! :)
