Shana and Ricardo are the epitome of cuteness. Their love story began when they were both volunteering at Casa de Salud Family Medical Office in the South Valley of Albuquerque, New Mexico while they were pursuing careers in the medical field. Fast forward to their beautiful wedding day at The Railyards in Albuquerque, New Mexico and what a dreamy dream it was!
With the help of their wedding planners (Orange September, an event company), Shana and Ricky were able to include so many beautiful and personal touches to their incredible wedding day. They made every aspect of their day bilingual to include all of their families and represent the blending of families. Their table numbers were words that were important to Shana and Ricky that they interpreted in Spanish/English. They had have a paleta truck (Pop Fizz) during their cocktail hour because they first visited Pop Fizz early on in their relationship because it was near Casa de Salud Family Medical Office where they first met. They had the word “Salud" in beautiful script as their wedding cake topper because it represents Cheers/Joy, Health, their medical profession, and the place where their love story began. They opted for unique train ticket invitations since the wedding was held at the Rail Yards in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They also had a special treat for their guests and had a mariachi band to symbolize Ricky's culture. They also had a harp player playing during the ceremony because the Shana plays the harp. I loved every single detail of their extraordinary day. They also made their beautiful rose gold/copper arch that they promised forever to one another underneath. The thought and details that went into their wedding planning were out of this world spectacular!
Ricky and Shana chose the Railyards in Albuquerque, New Mexico as their wedding venue because of the beauty of “The windows! The large space! The open, unique atmosphere! The blank slate!”. They also opted for a gorgeous color palette of deep red and mint because of how gorgeous it complimented the windows of the Railyards. The urban environment and cool windows at Rail Yards truly made for an extraordinary atmosphere for their wedding day!
I love that Shana and Ricky opted for a “First Look” before the ceremony which was so special and filled with so much love. I love when couples choose to do a first look because it is a special moment of love and calmness before the wedding day festivities commence. We were able to take a short drive to Casa de Salud Family Medical Office where they first met to capture some amazing portraits of the two of them which made for a spectacular memory to cherish forever. I also loved that they chose to do all of their portraits with family before the ceremony so that way they could enjoy and be fully present during their cocktail hour and wedding reception.
Shana and Ricky’s beautiful bilingual ceremony was so meaningful and special. Shana’s father officiated the ceremony and Ricky’s sister in law interpreted in Spanish. Shana and Ricky wrote their own vows, which were also bilingual. As Ricky and Shana said “I Do” the mariachi surprised all of their guests and led them into La Marcha to kick off the reception!
The reception was absolutely AMAZING! If you’ve never partied at The Railyards, it is truly an unforgettable experience! The Drake-Lavelle’s and the Galicia’s sure know how to party! The night was filled with love, laughter, and so much dancing!! I also loved that Ricky chose to throw his bowtie instead of Shana’s garter which was a fun twist on tradition! We ended the night with some stunning night time portraits in front of The Railyards (which are some of my favorite portraits EVER!).
The #Shaynardo wedding was absolutely magnificent! I love them, loved their day, and beyond thankful for the opportunity to capture such extraordinary memories for Shana + Ricardo!
